I had my toe nail surgery today finally. There was a third year student in with us, making four of us in all, and it was such a giggle it was brilliant. I sat up and watched the whole thing; the side of the nail being dug out, it being cut and pulled away, and phenol soaked buds being pushed far into my toe right down to the bed and being twisted and twisted inside. It was awesome! I have now grinned my way through two surgical procedures - having lasers fired straight into my eyes, and now this. Did I go into the wrong line of work?
